Forough Najarbehbahani
Forough Najarbehbahani is an emerging designer who has recently finished her Honours degree in Design at UNSW Art and Design. Her focus is on lighting and object design, with an extensive interest in designing installations for public places.
Forough’s interests in designing complicated, smart, and interactive structures, installations, and surfaces have recently led her to collaborate with the mechanic and mechatronic engineers. Forough has featured in several group exhibitions locally and was shortlisted for WORKSHOPPED19, Designing Bright Futures 2019 at the Australian Design Centre, Kudos Gallery 2019, TWT Excellence Prize, and also shortlisted designer for VIVID 2020.
Her Honours projects ‘Demarcation’ as a site-specific interactive design installation is inspired by her personal story and vision for a world without borders. It combines high-tech manufacturing processes and surface design in order to create a data-driven, dynamic installation.
She has previously collaborated with the UNSW CREATE team for VIVID 2019, Sydney Dance Company, UNSW, the MakerGames program, interning at Amigo and Amigo studio, and designing site-specific sculptures in collaboration with EPICentre at UNSW Art and Design for SIGGRAPH ASIA 2019.
