In my homeland, mothers, and grandmothers create decorative hangers from native seeds to place in their homes. They believe these Dodani can dispel negative energy. When gathering gumtree branches I sought to entwine my grandmother's memories of village life into my artistic practice by continuing this ancient tradition in a new land.
